Sensible Soccer versus Sociable Soccer
They are not the same game. Sensible Soccer is the 1992 series. Sociable Soccer is a later series associated with Jon Hare. If a PS5 or Switch page is full of Sociable Soccer, that is a different product wearing a familiar idea.

What changed in 2026
The Guardian, 15 November 2023, covered Hare's return with Sociable Soccer. That article is about a new game, and it is useful as a bridge between the names. It is not a statement that the old series moved to PlayStation.
On 31 March 2026 the Sociable Soccer site said Sociable Soccer 25 had been removed from digital stores. Nintendo Life lists Champions on Switch from 26 February 2026 at USD 14.99, GBP 12.99, or EUR 14.99, published there by Tower Studios. The South African PlayStation page lists Sporty Games Limited and R299. The official platforms page still mentions 25 and a PS5 that is coming soon. I treat the platforms page as stale.
| Sensible Soccer | Sociable Soccer Champions | |
|---|---|---|
| First year | 1992 | Champions store pages are 2026 |
| Camera | Top-down sprites | A later, larger presentation |
| Who publishes now | Codemasters, part of EA, for the old games | Tower Studios on Switch; Sporty Games Limited on the PS page |
| On PS5 | No listing found | A Champions product page exists |
Questions people ask
Is Champions a remaster?
No. It is the current Sociable Soccer game. Sensible's last official release is still the 2007 Xbox SWOS.
Why do the publisher names differ?
Switch's retail page says Tower Studios. The PlayStation page says Sporty Games Limited. I am printing both.
Should I buy 25?
The series site said 25 left digital stores on 31 March 2026. Look for Champions if you want that series.
