Sensible Soccer history, 1992 to 2007
Sensible Soccer is a football series started in 1992 by Sensible Software. The official line runs to a 2007 Xbox 360 release. Everything dated 2019 or 2026 on this site is community work or a later engine, and the timeline below marks that split.

Sensible Software was founded in 1986 and sold to Codemasters in 1999, the year the studio closed. EA completed the purchase of Codemasters on 18 February 2021. I describe the name as sitting with Codemasters, now part of EA. I have not seen a press line where EA says we own Sensible Soccer, so I do not write that sentence.

After the official line
Community data updates start earlier than people think. The series article credits a 97/98 update to Gideon, Dom Cresswell, and others, and a 1998 World Cup edition that shipped only on a CU Amiga cover disc. SWOS 2020's own page dates that installer to 19 December 2019. The 25/26 season pack and OpenSWOS are 2026 projects and have their own pages.
A Master System search belongs in the 92/93 row. Eurocom did that version. It is not evidence of a modern Sega release.

Questions people ask
Who owns it now?
The chain I can source is Sensible Software to Codemasters in 1999, then EA's purchase of Codemasters on 18 February 2021. I stop there.
Was it on the Sega Master System?
Yes, as part of the 92/93 wave, developed by Eurocom. That is a 1990s cartridge, not a new compilation.
