Sensible Soccer 2006
Sensible Soccer 2006 is an official 3D game, released 9 June 2006, developed by Kuju Sheffield and published by Codemasters. It is not SWOS with a fresh database, and it was not released on PlayStation 3.

Platforms and the PS3 rumour
The series article lists Windows, PlayStation 2, and the original Xbox. A PS3 search is a wrong console. GOG added the Windows version on 3 November 2008 and still listed it as DRM-free when I checked, with a snapshot price of SGD 3.19 against a 12.79 base, and a store rating of 2.5 out of 5 from 168 ratings.
Eurogamer's review on 26 May 2006, filed just before the wide release, describes a three-button control scheme, praises parts of the game, and notes there is no online play. I am not turning 2.5 stars into my own score.
Where it sits in the series
Eurogamer called it the first Sensible game in eight years, counting from the 1998 releases. Those 1998 games, Sensible Soccer 98 and the European Club Edition, are the awkward 3D and PlayStation chapter. 2006 is the later attempt, not a patch for 96/97.
Mods for 2006 exist and they are old. The mods page covers the 2011 Mega Patch and the 2009 squad update. I would not install them on a new Windows PC without a backup, and I have not proved they still launch.
Questions people ask
Is 2006 on GOG the PS2 game?
GOG sells the Windows build. The PS2 and Xbox discs are separate objects.
Does it include online seasons?
Eurogamer said the 2006 game had no online matches. Use SWOS routes if netplay is the point.
Why do people say PS3?
The number 2006 sits next to the PS3 era in people's heads. The published platforms stop at PS2 and the first Xbox.
