SWOS editors and transfer tools

If you want to change a name, a shirt, or a skill, use an editor on a copy you own. Four tools show up in public notes. They do not all speak the same year of data, and I will not claim the 2022 Windows tool understands the 25/26 pack.

Four tools

AG-SWSEdt is a Windows program. Its readme says it edits team files, names, squad numbers, nationality, skin tone, attributes, formations, and the shape of a league. It can build the player pool file the game uses, and it can import a spreadsheet from an older transfer editor. The repository was created on 5 November 2018 and the last push I can see is 16 November 2022.

An Amiga editor, timoheimonen/amiga-swos-9697-editor, was posted on the SWOS United forum in October 2026. It is a WHDLoad patch and it imports and exports structured text and spreadsheets. The post is the author's. I have not found a second review.

swos.eu is SWOS United's site. Its tactics board can build a shape, browse the team database, and change skills. SWOS 2020 also ships a browser for players and teams. Inside the original game, the manual's custom team editor changes names, faces, and shirts, and it stops at 48 sides.

Questions people ask

Will AG-SWSEdt open a 25/26 database?

I have no evidence either way. The tool's last public push is 2022. Do not assume it understands the newer pack.

Is there a macOS editor?

Not in the notes I read. OpenSWOS runs on a Mac. That is the game engine, not a database editor.

Can I share an edited database?

The game data is not yours to republish. Edit a local copy.

Keep going
