SENSIBLE SOCCER

Sensible Soccer 2026: is there a new game?

No official Sensible Soccer has been announced for 2026, as of 30 October 2026. The last official release remains the 2007 Xbox 360 version of Sensible World of Soccer. Two newer projects wear the year, and neither is a Codemasters launch.

The two projects that use the year

SWOS 25/26 is season data. On PC it arrives through the SWOS 2020 installer, which SWOS United lists as version 7.7, 94MB, and in need of an original game. On Amiga it is a WHDLoad pack. GamesNostalgia and Generation Amiga disagree on who to name as the publisher. I write SWOS United's community, with Playaveli leading the WHDLoad release, and I do not collapse that into one company.

Generation Amiga dates the WHDLoad release to 7 January 2026. That day is a single article. I say January 2026 unless I am pointing at that one source.

OpenSWOS is the other 2026 project. GitHub shows the repository created on 21 October 2026. The itch.io build string I read was 824aff0f. There is no GitHub release tagged 1.0, so I will not invent one. It plays 96/97 only after you supply the data.

French remake searches

A remake search in French finds OpenSWOS, and then finds the same limit. The engine is new. The teams are yours. Sociable Soccer Champions is a different series and is the game on Switch and PlayStation, not a Sensible remake.

Questions people ask

Is SWOS 25/26 the new Sensible Soccer?

It is new data for the old game. It is not a store release from Codemasters or EA.

When did OpenSWOS come out?

The repository was created on 21 October 2026. I do not have a separate release-day announcement with a version number.

Did EA announce anything?

I found no EA or Codemasters product page for a 2026 Sensible game.
