How to play Sensible Soccer on PC
On a modern PC you have three honest setups. Buy SWOS 96/97 on GOG and use the wrapper it ships. Point OpenSWOS at that same folder if you want widescreen and online play. Or mount a DOS copy yourself in DOSBox. Sensible Soccer 2006 is a fourth, different game.

GOG on Windows 11
GOG lists SWOS 96/97 as DRM-free for Windows and Linux, added to the store on 21 February 2013. I am not claiming a special Windows 11 certification. The store page names Windows, and that is as far as the listing goes.
The 96/97 manual says the keyboard layout is chosen at install. There is no universal WASD map I can print. Pause, replay, highlights, and stats are the named keys P, R, H, and S.
DOSBox, if you are mounting a folder
DOSBox's own setup guide is the mount sequence I trust: map a folder to a drive letter, switch to that drive, then change into the game directory. I am not pasting a cycle count, because the right speed depends on your machine and I have not timed one.
- Install DOSBox from dosbox.com.
- MOUNT C to the folder that holds the game.
- Type C: and then CD into the game directory.
- Start the executable that came with your copy.
OpenSWOS on the same PC
Run SWOS-Setup.exe. Windows SmartScreen may stop on an unknown publisher. The install notes say to choose More info, then Run anyway. The setup looks for a GOG install automatically. Saves land in Documents\SWOS.
Default fire buttons in OpenSWOS are Right Ctrl, Space, Left Ctrl, and Enter. Movement is the arrow keys. That map is from the project's playing notes, and it is not the 1996 installer's map.
Questions people ask
Will it run on Windows 11?
GOG sells a Windows build. I have not sat through an install on Windows 11 for this page, so I am not calling it certified.
sensible soccer na pc
Yes, on PC, through GOG or OpenSWOS. The Polish phrase is a platform question, and the answer is the GOG Windows build.
What about Linux?
GOG lists SWOS 96/97 for Linux as well. OpenSWOS also ships a native Linux setup binary.
