Sensible Soccer cheats and tips
There is no official cheat menu in the 96/97 manual. The tricks below each have one source, they are decades old, and I have not re-run them. Read them as archive notes. Do not expect them on Xbox or Switch.

Two notes from a 1998 Amiga cheat page
Ami Cheat's Page, preserved on a textfiles mirror of a 1998 disc, describes two SWOS behaviours. I am paraphrasing, not promising they still fire.
- After a shot, press R immediately and hold fire. The note says the picture returns with players frozen and the ball unsaved.
- In the transfer market, offer for their first-choice forward and a substitute forward at a fee of zero, then add your own first-choice forward to the deal. The note says the computer accepts and you gain their forward. It says the same idea works for other positions.
One Game Genie code, Genesis only
Almar's Guides lists E4FT-CA3R as a Game Genie code to run the European cartridge on a US Genesis or a Japanese Mega Drive. That is a region note from one guide. It is not a power-up, and it does not apply to SNES, PC, or Xbox.
Shooting ideas from 2002
Ricky's guide, which is opinion, talks about bending the ball from outside the box, lobs from 35 to 40 yards, near and far corners, a shot after a 90-degree turn, and headers that want one bounce. He also tells you to redo tactics after every substitution. I file all of that under tips, not cheats.
Questions people ask
Will these work on the Xbox version?
I have no source that says so. Do not carry an Amiga keyboard trick onto a console and expect the same R key.
Can cheats break a save?
I have no test. If you try the transfer note, copy your save first. I am not calling it safe.
Is there a Switch code?
There is no Sensible game on Switch to apply a code to.
